ABOUT ME

I'm a contemporary self-taught painter based on the Rutland and Lincolnshire border. I started painting in earnest after my Mother passed away in 2020. Up until that point I'd only really created work for our own home or for friends.

Like many, 2020 made me realise I needed to pursue my passion and do what made me feel joyful - so I picked up my paint brush and got to it! 

​

I generally tend to create abstracted, imaginary landscapes inspired by the beautiful countryside that surrounds me. I hope the works are optimistic, playful and uplifting - maybe even irreverent. I'm determined not to take painting too seriously and to continue to find joy in it and, hopefully, give joy to others. 

​

I deliberately try to give my paintings vague and ambiguous titles. I believe that the work isn't truly finished until it's seen through the eyes of the audience. The idea that it's a collaboration between myself and the final owner really appeals to me.
